Lucknow’s urban transformation continues with the rapid development of the CM Grid Smart Road Project, currently progressing at Park Road. This project is part of Phase 1 of the CM Grid scheme, under which six major roads in the city are being redeveloped with smart features and modern urban infrastructure.
One of the key elements of the project is the complete undergrounding of utilities — including electric wires, drainage systems, and pipelines — to ensure safety, durability, and ease of maintenance. The roads are also being equipped with dedicated footpaths, landscaped gardens, aesthetic lampposts, and comfortable public benches to enhance both functionality and visual appeal.
Advanced smart lane markings will be introduced to improve traffic flow and road safety. These upgrades aim to make commuting smoother, more organized, and more pedestrian-friendly.
Looking ahead, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has already floated tenders for Phase 2 of the project. Roads in the Vibhuti Khand area are set to be transformed into smart roads in the upcoming phase.
The CM Grid Smart Road Project is expected to significantly elevate Lucknow’s urban infrastructure and contribute to the city’s vision of becoming a modern, sustainable, and smart capital.
