Lucknow is set to witness a major transformation in its air connectivity infrastructure with the unveiling of a fully integrated expansion plan for Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. A key highlight of the plan is the development of a brand-new Terminal 4 (T4), designed to handle the increasing passenger traffic and provide world-class amenities.
One of the most notable aspects of the project is the proposed expansion of the airport runway towards the Lucknow-Kanpur highway. To accommodate this without disrupting road traffic, authorities are expected to implement a model similar to that of Varanasi Airport — where a highway underpass is built beneath the runway. This innovative design allows for seamless airport operations while maintaining uninterrupted highway connectivity.
The integrated airport plan will enhance capacity, streamline operations, and position Lucknow as a major aviation hub in North India. The new terminal and runway extension aim to meet future demands, improve passenger experience, and boost regional economic growth.
