
Lucknow: The new DM of the district has taken charge to bring the capital’s dilapidated traffic system back on track. According to the press release issued by the district administration, on Monday, DM Visakh G. Iyer inspected the ongoing projects of Setu Nigam to make the city’s traffic system smooth and for road safety. He directed to complete the work of the underpass being built at Awadh intersection and the bridge being built from Rajajipuram to Para including Tikunia Tiraha in Para as soon as possible.
DM gave major instructions
According to the press release issued, Lucknow District Magistrate Visakh G inspected the underpass under construction at Awadh intersection. The project manager told the DM that out of a total of 1088 pillars, piling of 224 has been completed. The DM directed to employ more workers and resources in the piling construction work. Apart from this, the officials were given the responsibility to deploy 32 traffic marshals to keep the traffic system smooth.
The District Magistrate asked to install indicators, reflectors and blinkers on dividers to make traffic smooth and safe at Tikunia intersection of Para. Apart from this, he directed to send a survey and proposal to the government for the construction of a flyover from Agra Expressway to Awadh Square. He also inspected the bridge being constructed from Rajajipuram to Para at a cost of Rs 153 crore, about 22 percent of whose construction work has been completed. He directed to speed up the work on issues related to land acquisition and start the work by taking a no objection certificate from the Municipal Corporation by February 3.
