
The Uttar Pradesh government is set to commence the construction of the ambitious ‘Kukrail Night Safari and Adventure Park’ in Lucknow next month. The project, which aims to boost tourism and wildlife conservation, will be developed in two phases with a total investment of over Rs 1,500 crore.
The Uttar Pradesh government aims to position Lucknow as a major eco-tourism hub through this project. The development of Kukrail as a tourist attraction aligns with the state’s broader goal of promoting wildlife conservation, increasing green cover, and providing a sustainable leisure destination.
PROJECT TO BE COMPLETED IN TWO PHASES
According to an official statement, the development will take place in two phases. The first phase, estimated to cost Rs 631 crore, is set to begin in April and is expected to be completed within 24 months. This phase will include essential infrastructure, enclosures, and visitor facilities to ensure a smooth launch of the night safari and adventure park.
A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND NIGHT SAFARI IN INDIA
The Kukrail Night Safari will be the first of its kind in India, offering visitors a unique experience of witnessing nocturnal wildlife in a controlled and natural habitat. Inspired by the renowned Singapore Night Safari, the park will provide a safe and immersive way for visitors to observe animals during the night.
LOCATION AND FEATURES
The safari and adventure park will be developed on a vast stretch of land near Kukrail Reserve Forest in Lucknow. The proposed site is already known for its rich biodiversity and is home to various species of flora and fauna.
Dedicated zones for different species: Segregated enclosures for lions, tigers, leopards, deer, and other animals.
Artificial moonlit trails: Carefully designed lighting systems to create a natural nighttime environment
Eco-friendly safari rides: Battery-operated vehicles to ensure a pollution-free experience
