Now AC electric double deckers will be seen running on the roads of the city. On Friday evening, the first AC electric double decker reached Lucknow from Maharashtra. This bus will be operated inside the city by the Urban Directorate. However, first this AC electric double decker will be inaugurated and only after that its operation can start.
The dream of operating double decker buses in Lucknow was cherished decades ago. An old double decker bus was also prepared and it was operated, but this bus got entangled in the web of electric wires and this plan was shelved, but after several decades, now once again preparations are being made to start the operation of double deckers inside the city. This time passengers will be made to travel in AC electric double deckers.
People are eager to see the double decker bus for the first time:
On Friday evening, an AC electric double decker bus from Maharashtra reached the workshop in Lucknow on a loader from Switch Mobility Company. Now the operation of this bus will start after its inauguration. Officials of the Directorate of Urban Transport as well as the city bus officials inspected this bus. This bus looks very attractive. Currently, more than 100 electric buses are being operated in Lucknow. These include AC buses as well as non-AC buses, but double deckers have never been operated till now. For the first time, AC double deckers will also run on the city roads.
It will be operated between Kamta and Scooter India:
Officials associated with the city bus say that the web of wires has been removed to operate the double decker bus in the city. The Municipal Corporation has also got the trees cut and trimmed so that there is no obstruction in the operation of the bus. Double decker bus will be operated from Scooter India located in Sarojini Nagar to Kamta of Chinhat.
Bus will be handed over to City Transport:
MD of Lucknow City Transport Services Limited RK Tripathi says that Switch Mobility Company from Maharashtra has sent the first AC electric double decker bus to Lucknow. This bus will be operated within the city. It will be operated between Scooter India and Kamta. When this bus will be handed over to City Transport by the Urban Directorate, then the operation will be started. There will be no problem of any kind in this. Charging points are also being arranged.
